Stones Throw Farm's CSA

Welcome to the 2016 Stones Throw Farm CSA Program!!

Our 2015 CSA season was a great success and we are looking forward to another great season in 2016. 2016 marks the farms 10th CSA season and our 13th season overall. We are proud to be one of the longest running CSA’s in Central New York and as we reflect on the past we couldn’t be more excited for the future – let us put our experience to work for you this season!

We appreciate your interest in joining our CSA program.

The 2016 CSA program will run for 20 consecutive weeks beginning in Mid-June and running through the end of October. CSA shares are picked up at the farm on either Tuesday evenings from 4 – 7pm or Saturday mornings from 8 – 11am. Members must indicate their preference for a Tuesday or Saturday pick-up at sign up time. Once we have established our Tuesday group and our Saturday group, we ask that folks please stick with this day through the season.(we do allow some wiggle room if folks speak with us ahead of time and can accommodate occasional travel, etc.)

Our CSA share price for 2016 is $660. Our CSA has been and continues to be known for providing incredible quality and value and we continue to consider that our mission. We do not offer half-shares but have many members that choose to split their share with friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors. Payment details are provided on the following page.

We grow a diverse mix of crops throughout the season and provide bountiful and well-rounded shares. All produce supplied through our CSA program is grown here on our farm according to the principles and practices set forth by the Northeast Organic Farmers Association – Farmers Pledge program. Items included in your share will be picked, washed when appropriate and sorted for your selection. It is possible for you to be in and out of the farm on pickup days in a very short period of time. However, we also invite you to stretch your legs and take a look around each week; kids are, of course, welcome as long as they are supervised.

At many times throughout the season there will be additional items available to CSA members on a “you-pick” basis at no additional charge. Our “you-pick” flowers and raspberries are always a big hit. We have a number of CSA “community” events planned this season from; on-farm yoga, to visiting chefs and producers, and farm tours, etc.

In an effort to “simplify” our members’ shopping and ultimately improve access to the many delicious, wholesome and sustainably produced farm goods in Central New York, we are happy to offer, when available, additional items for purchase at CSA pick up, such as dairy products, pasture raised meats, poultry and eggs, honey, maple syrup, and fruits, all produced regionally by friends and neighbors.

If you have any further questions regarding the CSA program, we welcome you to call or write.

If you would like to secure a CSA share for this season, we ask that you e-mail us as soon as possible. This greatly helps with planning and early planting. Please indicate your preferred pick-up day. We will confirm receipt of your e-mail.

We are looking forward to the 2016 season, and wish everyone a great winter and spring. Please refer to the following page for CSA details. And don’t hesitate to call or write if you have any questions or concerns.
